Banished: Party Board Game

Course: Senior Thesis (Fall 2022-Spring 2023)

Roles: Lead Game Developer & Designer

For my Senior Thesis project, I developed and designed a party-style board game called Banished, inspired by my favorite show, Survivor. I used several Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to manufacture the game’s logo, cards, box, and instruction manual. I also made additional game pieces such as tokens and a ring using a 3D printer and a laser cutting and engraving machine. I presented an initial prototype for this game at TCNJ’s AIMM After Dark event in December 2022, and went on to proudly present the final version at TCNJ’s IMM Senior Showcase event in May 2023.

Visual Music: Art Timelapse & Music Composition

Course: Independent Study (Spring 2023)

Roles: Artist, Videographer, & Music Composer

During my final semester at TCNJ, I decided to take on an Independent Study that combined several of my interests. As an enthusiast of both musical and visual art forms, and a huge advocate for the importance of mental health, I thought it would be a very valuable use of my time to study and create various audiovisual projects with therapeutic value. Here is my final project that I came up with for the class, a time lapse video of a colorful sketch, accompanied by music that I composed using Ableton Live 11.

Music Wellness Board: Website

Course: Designing Music for Wellness (Fall 2022)

Role: Graphic Designer & Music Curator

I contributed my design skills and musical knowledge to a wellness project, in which my team and I developed a website with the intent of providing its users therapeutic value through music. My job was to curate 6 playlists, each musically depicting 1 of 6 main moods: Happy, Angry, Calm, Excited, Sad, and Inspired. Additionally, I designed 6 playlist covers, emphasizing the mood of each playlist through suitable color and typography choices. My contributions to this Music Wellness Board project allowed for users of our website to easily navigate through various playlists based on their current mood or desired mood. In December 2022, my team and I went on to present our website and research findings at TCNJ’s Music Department Recital at Mayo Concert Hall.
