Graphic Design Experience

Down The Jersey Shore: Magazine Cover/Spreads

Course: Typography (Fall 2022)

Roles: Graphic Designer

This project challenged me to design a cover, a table of contents, and five content pages for a magazine highlighting the best beaches to visit in New Jersey. I focused on the importance of legibility, hierarchy, spacing, and imagery, as well as font and color consistency in magazine design. I constructed these pages in Adobe InDesign and printed them as spreads to be displayed in the art building at TCNJ.

POP’d: Identity Manual & Branding Materials

Course: Typography (Fall 2022)

Roles: Brand Designer

For this project, I selected an imaginary popcorn snack company to create various branding elements for throughout the semester. Based on pre-determined knowledge that the company’s target audience is children, I designed an identity manual for the company in Adobe InDesign. The manual showcases all acceptable logo variations, font choices, and color palette I chose for the company. It also displays the environmental graphic mockups, as well as both bulk and non-bulk 3D packaging mockups, all of which were created using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. For each component of this project, I designed 4 different versions depicting 4 different flavors of the snack, while still maintaining consistency in the logo and overall design.

Garamond Typeface: Booklet

Course: Typography (Fall 2022)

Role: Graphic Designer

I designed this booklet about the typeface of my choice, under the parameters that it could only be in black and white, and that each page had to present its information in an intriguing way, while still maintaining a cohesive overall design. The cover of this booklet was intended to resemble books stacked on top of each other, as the Garamond font is most known for being a very legible font used when printing books, especially novels.
